Zendesk used to be a great company, but ever since the acquisition by Private Equity, the culture and vision have gone down the drain. The pay is below market rate, and a large number of AEs fail to achieve (or come close to) quota. Leadership is not transparent and (micro)manages by fear. Very many AEs are on Coaching Plans or PIPs. Zendesk's competitors are catching up with feature parity at lower prices. Many customers are happy with the Zendesk products they have and are not very open to upgrading if it will cost them money.

It's an interesting year for SaaS and Zendesk is definitely feeling the impact. Some reps are hitting and exceeding quota and many are struggling to hit. If you get a big deal or have several good accounts, you will hit quota, but if you have a tougher territory, you will struggle.
