It was a great place to work a few years ago, and I hope they get back to that. Since the VC buyout things have changed. Comp plans made worse, most of the best AEs have left. Customers increasingly unhappy at being squeezed and the market is very competitive, so avoiding churn is difficult. Overall though, it’s good technology and there are some great people there. Perhaps they will turn it around. Could be a good opportunity for a new wave of AEs as some great accounts have been left behind unmanaged.

Working at New Relic has had its ups and downs so far. The company is at a unique period having recently gone private. Changes are constantly happening to the pricing model/billing structure and the new plans can be hard for customers to understand. This causes some friction in renewals and expansion conversations. Great leadership was at the very top. Founder and CEO was amazing. Comp plans were good (not great) but the deal desk and sales ops org were both broken and inefficient.
