What does the onboarding and training process look like at Workato for new sales team members? Did you feel equipped to start your role?

There's a well-structured onboarding process - so prepare youself for videos etc. Training is considerably better now than it was even a couple years ago.
That said, anticipate it taking 6 months to feel like you kind of know what you're doing, and you won't really have your legs under you until somwhere between months 12 to 18. There's a lot to learn as you can sell to most departments, so the scope of what constitutes an IC is not nearly as tight as most SaaS companies; this is good and bad.
In regards to being equipped for the role, you won't be equipped by the end of onboarding to navigate a conversation with a VP IT or VP Marketing or Head of Sales Ops or FinOps, etc equally well and you won't know all the differing kinds of use cases that are potentially valuable. That's ok, core IT is the most important place to understand and, if you spend your own time getting to know a broadset of customer stories, you'll get a feel for what other depts want.

It really depends on who your manager is and where they stand with their own quota obtainment. In terms of onboarding material certain teams do a better job than others but overall it’s pretty lackluster. Personally I don’t think anyone’s ever fully equipped you just make it up as you go along.
