There’s a ton of movement every single quarter that impacts your chance of hitting quota. In Q3 2024 we started off with an entirely new book of business with next to 0 opps to holdover. This deflated pipeline for all existing reps. Beyond that the first 1-1.5 months of the quarterly we weren’t allowed to outbound these merchants for “merchant experience”. Lots of other issues like products being devalued and other things that would make my review too long.
If you’re looking to grow as a rep and build your sales acumen in the SaaS space Shopify is not a good fit for you. Managers will ask you to lie to customers to get deals across the line.
You’re measured on gross revenue closed won not net revenue so they reward a lot of bad behavior.
