The biggest issue with this company is sales incentives and the disconnect between corporate’s training and sales approach to what actually sells. The entire sales org is structured to make short term, transactional sales, but utilizes training for consultative, holistic HR sales through software and service driven conversation. However, the compensation package is performance driven with a 40/60 base/commission split, and management focuses on metrics to the point of micromanagement to create a “weekly submission” pace. The entire organizations profits inflated based on capturing Covid related tax money for clients, quotas inflated, comp packages we’re altered to account for people who outperformed their number, and now we that these tax credits are no longer accessible, the company cannot pivot because they refuse to recognize the vacuum created, or the fact that “a strategic approach to hiring and retaining talent” is not a what moves the needle for a 5 employee ma n pa shop.
