How satisfied are you with the compensation structure in the sales department at Oracle?

If you are in field sales it's a very competitive package compared to other sales orgs.  If you are hitting your number it's great, if you need to build pipeline, be prepared to build your territory for the first year, it's very hard to walk into a patch and make your number.  If you are willing to invest in the territory it's a good Company to work for from my experience.

On the SaaS side, it's straightforward and fair in my opinion.

On the SaaS side, base is at or above industry avg, variable is capped/reduced % once you hit 1.5 or 2x of quota,which isn't ideal, however about 25-30% of field reps hit quota.  It's up to you to build out pipeline in your territory, I've never gotten an inbound lead that has been qualified.

I would avoid Oracle if you can. if you need a job and are deseparte - sure.  The internal politics are awaful.

First sales org I have worked at that has no accelerators for exceeding quota (cloud infra)

It was very hard to hit quota if you didn't have a good territory with happy customers for a few years to develop the rapport and trust. And for newer AE's, Oracle management would always change your account list at the start of each fiscal year to make sure you wouldn't make quota.
