Current Employee Taken over by PE. The current CEO is checked out. He changed the pricing model to from license based to consumption based, made a mistake of going for user based pricing model, learnt it after 2 years. Moving towards query based pricing model.
When you look the above you realize that the person at the top didnt know how to execute. Product led folks deciding pricing with no experience in GTM leads to failure.
New Relic as a product was top notch, still a big player in the observability industry. But we lose customers now either because of pricing or because our product has too many bugs.
The CRO is absent, didnt know what he has done in the past 12 months. Too many changes. The revenue is flat.
Expecting more layoffs, probably this would be like the 4th in less than 2 years.
Fantastic company if you are able to ride the storm, nice people. The only thing that you like about New Relic is its people.
