Lucid is one of those “nice to have” SaaS companies that was able to thrive for the past 10 years or so on account of a low interest rate environment where SaaS spend was not scrutinized to the degree it is today. Unfortunately times have changed and this is not a company that well positioned for this new reality.
Lucid is a more of a tool than a comprehensive solution. We cater to a couple of use cases relevant to 1 or 2 departments per account and depend on said departments expanding headcount to truly grow. Because both hiring and SaaS spend are being scrutinized more amongst the broader economy, we are told we need to expand the tool to other departments by talking to executives and finding out about initiatives we can attach Lucid too. The caveat is no executive really cares about a diagramming tool.
As a result reps are just selling on price to IT managers who have competitor licenses and offering a better contract/price.
