How would you rate the level of micromanagement?

The micromanagement is overwhelming. It’s goes beyond “support” which is how they’ll try to spin it to you. There will be 3-4 people in your deals telling you you’re doing it wrong, at all times. This is the case for top reps, tenured reps, or otherwise perfectly competent reps. Doesn’t matter if you’re good at your job, they won’t leave you alone.

Micromanagement is very prevalent at KnowBe4. They are set up to monitor everything that happens; all calls are recorded and tracked, as are all emails. Trainers review all of this information and regularly provide critiques to 'help' you. Additionally, all employees have a sense that everything occurring in and around the office is recorded and listened to, although I have no way to verify this. However, I can tell you that employees live in fear of being monitored by 'big brother.' The rule of thumb would be to 'Watch what you say AT ALL TIMES at KnowBe4'—yes, even in the bathrooms.

Above average micromanagement. Sales is a numbers game for sure but in 2024, personalizing your outreach is just as important if not more. KnowBe4 hasn't embraced this which is why the sales team has a bit of a bad reputation in the marketplace.

Pretty much the only metric managers focus on is dials. It's archaic and a bit call center-y at times, not to mention a great way to get burned out. If I have 2-3 demos in a day, sorry not sorry for not also hitting your arbitrary goal of 50+ dials.

This will depend on your leader, but overall I’d say you’re managed by your metrics.

Now your pipeline can get annoying with all the chatters but it’s intended to help support you and make sure no deals get lost.

It will depend on your leader as well as your leader's upline. Metrics/KPIs/OKRs are all daily conversations and if you're not hitting you number, you'll never hear the end of it. There was a time where you could work autonomously and be left alone as long as you were puling down deals, but that is no longer the case. it's gotten pretty cringe.

With our new CRO and SVP for enterprise this has improved 100%.  Gone are the days where the number of phone calls is the primary metric.
