What is the overall cultural environment like in the sales organization at KnowBe4?

Used to be one of the coolest, most fun places to work. It was already going to the dogs after the IPO, but the Vista buyout made it a million times worse. It’s now a culture of micromanagement and fear based tactics to push performance. It’s sad what it’s turned into.

Sales people are completely replaceable - pay them low and beat them like rented mules, and if they complain, discharge them. No one gets a raise ("If you want a raise, go sell something"), do not color outside the lines, and never ask for a split from the Enterprise team.

Fairly toxic and micromanagement is running rampant. They are obsessed with making people return to the office when the job is completely remote. Making people return to the office all to have to sit on zoom meetings anyhow is bizarre. But hey, they’ll have a pizza party to make it better!

They’ll be implementing a forced RTO in Q1. Dangling raises for sales reps in 2024 that will still be below industry average. New policies that encourage micro managing — worst it’s ever been. Lackluster benefits package. “Because I said so” style leadership. Avoid.

There is a lot of micromanagement, but most of its ignorable. The RTO policy is ridiculously stupid. Touting "increased Collaboration" but we're the most siloed off branch in the company. Who are we collaborating with? no one. simple as that.

why do they want people in, so they can breath down their necks and tell them to CC their manager on every email.

The job is a churn and burn grind and the rate at which reps come in and out are crazy. If you have been here for a while and survived, its a great gig. but its hard to keep afloat

KnowBe4's culture is very unique. There is a mix of fun events and bonus structures that gets all employees, not just sales reps, involved in the sales culture and monthly sales targets. You definitely have to be determined and have a high work ethic as our full cycle sales process can be demanding. However, it is super rewarding as well. Our executives, including our CRO, are open to talk to you about anything and answer any questions on any given day which is unlike any other workplace. The amount of transparency is incredible, especially when there is a lot of change happening. I couldn't recommend KnowBe4 more to anyone in sales looking to make good money, grow in your career, and have a ton of fun while you do it!
