Our biggest competitor is OSS due to little differentiation. Reps who do well don't go by the playbook and focus on competitive takeouts.
A ton of focus has been put on kpi/performance tracking which has increased tedious/manual work to log everything and micromanagement from sales managers.
OTE looks very competitive from the outside but quota is almost impossible to attain. Less than 30% of reps hit their number last year, those who did were due to a large deal that got them over their number. What keeps most reps going is the possibility of hitting a home run deal that can possibly get them to their number or change their life
The only constant has been a high turn over rate with reps and middle management. Definitely do your research before accepting any sales roles. All other departments love working at Grafana.
