Gartner truly offers great insights and I would recommend almost anyone to subscribe to what they offer and due to their brand awareness it does help getting your foot in the door. The comp structure is great, the team atmosphere and training is also top notch. The high reward does come with high pressure and can make the job very difficult to succeed in. Selling Gartner is not easy, there are no features and benefits to hang your hat on. Rather you have to become an expert on how to dig into customers' problems/challenges, along with their goals, to truly align the value that Gartner may be able to offer. Gartner experienced a lot of turnover form what I could see and it was mainly due to long hours and burnout of people trying to follow the Gartner sales protocol. The role required you to be highly active and engaging with customers to sniff for new opportunities

Pretty steep learning curve with no quota ramp after 2-3 week of onboarding. Great learning & development opportunities with high rates of internal hiring and chances of a promotion. The sales team is increasingly becoming younger which can be off-putting to some. Assume there are no inbound leads other than the odd MQL.

Follow the Gartner metrics and you’ll do well. Outside experience and independent thinking are not valued, but the flip side is it’s a meritocracy.
