Gartner
Back to ReviewsCurrent Employee Always hiring in sales, when they add team members, reduce territories and spread among new head count. As the team grows it is difficult to hit quota. Gartner is a luxury (non necessary) service for IT teams, therefore in a difficult economy tougher to sell. Leadership culture is one that demoralizes team to "incent" achievement all under the premise that they are "coaching". Distrust of sales people is very evident. RVP/VP leadership levels have very inflated values of themselves and push their own agendas. Leadership is tied to their activities dashboard and too far away from what it takes to do the actual job. Age discrimination is a real thing in sales at Gartner. The extensive initial training does not prepare you for your role, and as soon as training ends on day 11-14, you are on full quota (zero ramp). They talk roses on the interview, reality is much different. Pros - known name in the market, benefits and pay are average, good work/life balance. They talk a good game, it just doesnt live up to the hype for the majority. Take the role if you need something, plan to keep looking & make Gartner a 1-2 year plan. Browse Other Reviews
