Back to ReviewsCurrent Employee CDW acquired my professional services company 2 years ago. In the simplest terms, CDW operations and culture are seriously lacking. There is no leadership in Central Majors. Many ‘managers’ who have been there 10+ years but no escalation path or support to field sellers.
Generating quotes with a race to the bottom is their sales strategy. They treat services sales like commodity sales and the comp plan reflects this. CDW culture sees the inside AM as the rep although the field reps have the more strategic relationships. Field reps are expected to spilt their commissions with the inside AM’s.
Additionally, CDW generates their own SKU’s adding 3-7% to the cost + automatic 2% ‘bidder add’ to the house forcing low margin for sellers. Margin is then split with the inside seller who often did not contribute to the sale . This shared comp model breeds mediocrity and is not an environment high performers want to be apart of.
Many strategic sellers and the technical resource’s from these professional services acquisitions are leaving the organization as a result.
