Easy to sell - Genesys is a product that companies need, it’s a Gartner MQ leader, and the company sets achievable quotas. But those advantages are undone by a comp structure that effectively penalizes “land and expand” selling (despite that being the strategy ELT puts forth). The issue is that customers are not given enough incentives for bigger initial commits and they can easily consume more than they commit without a new order; meanwhile, sales doesn’t get quota retirement/commission for any additional usage above the initial commit except for amounts greater than the sum of any additional usage + the initial commit + 10%. This especially hurts because they got rid of helpful sales tools like Gong and Slack; the CRM is not set up properly for quoting and account assignments are a mess — plus, IT & Ops take over a year to apply the most basic updates (ex. adding a new field or cleaning up bad/duplicate data); and there is too much admin / nothing is integrated or automated. Folks here are nice and relatively laid back, but there is not a lot of diversity (so many guys here with the same first name - hahaha).
