Vmware is a great company with great products that customers like to use. However the culture is engineering driven and there is not much respect for sales as they are a "necessary evil".

I truly enjoyed my experience at VMware. The culture that Pat established lasted for many years. VMware always put there people first and had a very strong leadership training program internally.

VMware is a much different place after the Broadcom acquisition. It is hard for me to imagine choosing to work in this organization post acquisition. Time will tell if Broadcom is able to simplify and deliver a true ‘Private Cloud’ solution.

Broadcom buyout has bulldozed VMware culture for the last 1 year. It will likely be better once the merger is complete. Within the next month, all VMware employees will learn their fate: hired, severed, or temporarily retained during the transition.
