Back to ReviewsFormer Employee David Campbell and his company Tropic have been a significant disappointment. As the CEO and co-founder, Campbell's leadership has not only been lacking in vision and innovation but has also fostered an incredibly toxic work environment. There is a pervasive lack of respect and professionalism. Instances of favoritism and nepotism are rampant, with promotions and opportunities often given based on personal connections rather than merit or performance. David Campbell’s leadership at Tropic has been nothing short of toxic. His "leadership" style, combined with a lack of genuine respect for employees, creates an environment that is both unhealthy and unproductive. Tropic needs a significant overhaul in leadership and culture to become a place where employees can thrive and feel valued. However, that will not happen. This company is done for. Lastly, while the company touts its commitment to values of DEI publicly, internally, there is little to no effort to create a truly inclusive and supportive workplace. This hypocrisy not only damages employee morale but also erodes trust in leadership. Tropic has been sinking since their first layoff back in October, 2023 and the few after that were swept under the rug.
