This company has always offered a lower-than-market sales compensation. However, the product used to be a great market fit, and the sales organization culture and development opportunities used to be the attracting factor. With the new technological developments (especially, AI tools), the company's solutions look outdated and are much harder to sell and justify its value. The leadership has changed to less experienced and engaging while pushing for high quantity/low quality of outbound activity. Professional development is pretty much non-existent. There are better opportunities.

Product is amazing but it’s very difficult to sell because there are literally about 1000 different use cases and many people in the emerging/SMB markets don’t even know what they need. Leadership is solid and they focus on transparency. I was at Smartsheet during a difficult time.

Smartsheet is a great software and customers genuinely like it. From my perspective I think companywide leadership is so hyper focused on growth and revenue that sometimes the employees themselves and employee contentment gets slightly neglected
