Oracle is a good school, especially suitable for new joiners in the tech industry to gain brand on your CV, to get your foot into IT and to adjust yourself in a large self-service corporation. Also, the technical colleagues are knowledgeable and helpful. Great networking opportunity. These are the upsides. Yet, It will be very hard to reach your sales targets in the IaaS and PaaS Cloud segment, speaking now of the North East region, since Oracle is in a challenger position against its competition and has very very high targets doubling each year since I started. Career progression and salary increases at Oracle are very hard to achieve and among the key reasons why current employees leave or think about leaving Oracle. Base compensation is below market value. What is especially disappointing is a lacking support from Business Development Reps for inbound lead flow for AEs, a lack of sales structure to reach your target and that you carry the entire sales cycles up to after sales adoption. Not very seller friendly comp plans within the Tech Cloud segment and only 15-20% reach their targets here. Learn here and move on then.

For people who worked and performed it is a hell of a good company. If you are not in your place in a sales role you will have a hard time. The potential is there for everyone, you just need to work your ass off.
