What are your thoughts on the sales compensation structure at Oracle?

The only place I have worked that has no accelerators, only decelerators on quota attainment.

Its fair.  Not the best but certainly not the worst.  Give it a C-  
Quotas are too high though IMO - attainment is lower than average.  Much better paying Tech firms out there if you look.

regarding tech cloud it is not fair, because you are only compensated on consumption high baselines. I closed a deal of 250 K $, 4 year contract, I received nothing at the closing of the deal, after 1  year of work.
Next FY I will surely have a higher baseline and reaching quota will be very hard.

In the Cloud Apps division field sales, base comp is competitive, however OTE attainment is about 20 to 25%. It really comes down to your territory/accounts and how Oracle friendly they are. Commission is capped. You do get exposure to Enterprise leading apps and benefits are good too.

Full transparency base and comp structure on the database license side is about 50/50. It’s not a great base, but there are large deals out there to over exceed your quota and make some serious money. Also accelerators tend to be an additional 20%

Compensation was competitive during my experience with Oracle.  Strong base and fair opportunity for many in my business group to earn full commissions.

The comp structure is OK but not the best. If you have an amazing year, over 2x quota, the plan comp % drops so it punishes you for over achieving.

Annual targets are arbitrarily assigned. One year your target is realistic, the next it's extremely unrealistic. No rhyme or reason.

It is fair. But depending on the business unit you are in, there might be thresholds or "gates" to cross before hitting your commissions. I was from the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Team.

The overall comp package is competitive, but the killer is what accounts do you have in order to make your quota? The accounts that make up your territory is key, and that can make or break you. Also, Oracle has the knack for re-assigning asccounts each year, so just when you started making inroads, developing a good relationship, you lose that account. And that sucks!

I wouldnt go to work at Oracle unless A) you really wanted tech sales experience or B) you want your soul to rot or C) you were desperate for a pay check.  Beyond that, don't work there.

Dude, that place does not care about their reps. The turn over is awful.
