Is there a hiring freeze in Oracle currently? Accepted a sales role on OCI weeks ago and no offer letter yet?

Not that I’m aware of. After offer it does take a while to go through approvals all the way up the EVP/Board so expect a few weeks to turn around the contract etc.

Then you have to go through background checks which can also take about 4 weeks so sit tight.

As a generality no. Remember Oracle is a large company and different business units and geographies all have different pressures and needs. The approvals process also usually involves a fair few people in different parts of the organisation, especially if you have asked for something outside guiderails. If the TA person you have been dealing with has gone quiet, don't accept that, speak with the hiring manager and hold them accountable to give you the truth on where things are at.

It's not my product area - but OCI has some absolutely amazing capability, innovative tariffing and some awesome stuff like dedicated regions.

Agreed. Once I received the verbal offer it took me nearly 2 months to go through all of the hoops including the background check. You're basically put into a queue and its just a waiting game at that point. I do know that if the hiring manager has any tenure there they can help expedite the process. Good luck!
