Back to ReviewsCurrent Employee Overall, Mongo is a phenomenal company to sell for. Exceptional PMF with strong differentiators, 1st line leaders are experienced and well trained, heavy focus on development throughout the sales org.
But new logo sellers beware, Mongo is a purely consumption based model - meaning you don't get paid unless the account hits certain thresholds of spend, and it's you're job to drive adoption (yes, as a NL AE...). No TCV payouts or for a signed contract.
Now, quotas are attainable and incentive pay is very good once your accounts start spending, but before then you're living on a below-market base and deal cycles are 6+ months.
Growth side of the business is the place to be at Mongo if you want to make $$$$. Databases are notoriously sticky products, and Mongo has invested a lot recently in the platform play. Much easier to farm here than it is to hunt.
All that being said, if you do end up on the Acquisition side, and can make it up the ladder, you will be a 1% seller by the time you leave. Sales process and PG are top focuses here and enablement is well equipped to develop your skillset. Browse Other Reviews
