What’s the sales culture like? Is it a rise and grind, hustle culture with high pressure sales tactics or do they value a consultative approach and promote work life balance?

Old HubSpot was consultive and work life balance. New HubSpot is very much so mandatory trainings with home work, daily call/activity metrics and deal velocity at all costs. It has been a real 180 the past few months but hoping it gets back to the HubSpot I signed up to work for.

It also depends on your manager! I had a manager who was extremely micromanaging even though I was at quota. He also denied every vacation I tried to take so I didn't get any PTO for the whole 6 months I was there. I also had about 7-8 hours of BS meetings/week and non-stop 1:1 with my manager. Even though I was close to 200% performance for my first 6 months I ultimately decided it wasn't worth it and moved on

Market is too saturated so its 24/7 hustle. Inbound leads are dry due to economy and over-hiring. It's great to have on resume, but I'd look somewhere else if you really want to make good money and do well.

I agree with the other two posts so far: the company has pulled a pretty big 180 in the past 12 months and feels like a totally different place to work than what I signed up for. In my opinion the OTE is low for the amount of hussle it takes to reach it, and the sheer amount of mandatory trainings/meetings is through the  roof. This past month I had one week with 11 hours of BS on my calendar, and another with 8 hours.

I really hope it recovers because it used to be a great place to work, but I'm not waiting around for it to change. One positive is that having HubSpot on my resume really has the offers flowing in, so I have pretty good choices of where I want to go

They value both tbh. Last day of the month is an absolute push to get anything and everything in regardless of where you stand on monthly quota.

They encourage a good WLB but there’s a lot of turnover as of late due to struggling economy and overhiring

40% of MM reps got canned last year and they rehired expecting a different result.

The culture is anti rep. If you sell a company and they churn 10 months later you lose 100% of your commission and its taken from your overall attainment and you get PIPd

New leadership at the very top has changed things a lot. They are trying to standardize things across all three sales units, which as you can imagine, does not work. Tons of pressure to hit each month even in the upper markets. Big change in the past year.  Really hope they change back.

As an AE, there is no work life balance. Expect to work 12 hour days. Unrealistic monthly quotas have caused attainment to suffer. The only people hitting quota are ramping reps with a reduced number. Reps are often dueling over leads. This has caused a lot of  turnover as of lately.

Even though you have a year number, leadership wants month over month success even on the highest team. Lots of micromanaging now. Work life is still solid, but they are trying to run all divisions like a SMB team. More tactical selling than strategic.
