I wanted to see if the positive responses on here are true? Seems like a pretty big void between positive and negative reviews.

I do see what you're seeing, but understand that toxic positivity culture is present within a good chunk of the company (and consider that many tenured employees have substantial stockholdings in the company).

To illustrate: I want to call out whatever koolaide-drinking sales manager that recently wrote a review here stating that HubSpot is a great company (agree) with "huge TAM with plenty of inbound leads" and that the only issue is with "the remote first policy" and how it "affects culture." These are flat-out lies. Revealing how brain-broken the old guard are, to the point of being incapable of assessing accountability to anyone other than front-line sales staff.

Oh the economy slowed down? There goes your plan to grow triple digits YoY (which was insane). Did they think that pandemic-era growth would continue unabated, ad infinitum? Yet, here is this manager (feeling attacked likely), saying inbound leads are supposedly plentiful - as AE attainment is well below 40% and half of Mid-Market are on rolling PIPs.

Yet they still hire more and blame it on the "remote first culture," which translates to "I'm an ineffective people manager who was promoted based solely on my performance as an individual contributor, and needs to force reps to come into an office where I can police them 8-10 hours a day."

It's not 'the company' that's driving the reviews, it's the tenured managers who don't know how to cope with the challenges in the market currently, and their inability to develop rational solutions.  There are great managers there, but if you end up under one like I've covered above, you're toast.

It’s a hard company to work for. You get “perks” like week of rest but have to do dbl the work before& after. My manager regularly called me on holidays, weekends,&vacation to try close deals. Quotas aren’t realistic. 6/7 people who started with me left in less than 2 years

A lot depends on your manager. If you are lucky to get a good one, the BS will be filtered by that person. However, approx 80% of line managers aren’t equipped / experienced enough to deal with the current situation. And that results in the negative reviews…

Positive responses are doctored.

Most of my hiring class is no longer at HubSpot 2 years later. Leadership sold when quotas were half what they are now and all they had to do was field inbound leads. HubSpot is SF2.0 and truly embodies the worst of sales cultures

current environment is this: burned teams(unrealistic quotas) , hiring a lot and loosing a lot of people as well.. still great compensation accelerators but avg sales tech environment and culture.
