Current Employee Pretty terrible experience. The culture at Gusto has become a "pass the buck" approach. No collaboration and no ownership from employees. In my opinion this is due to leadership wanting to understand pay for lesser talent, and use intense data based micromanagement to control individual contributes. They also create quota based on wishful thinking instead of anything remotely achievable and have a severe disconnect with the job at the ground level.
The product is also heading in the wrong direction as random changes are made for the worse, the product gets unnecessarily complicated to use, and yet they are no closer to breaking out beyond a small biz product.
Management is missing at all levels, it's an awful place to work now, and I have little to no faith in their long term success.
