Current Employee There are some great people in Google, but Cloud specifically has a toxic, highly political culture, especially throughout middle and regional management where you see managers with excessive HR cases against them progressing higher up as there is no connection between HR and the business.
The comp plan for reps is very confusing and not aligned to managers goals. As such you can be doing well against quota but be getting dragged over the coals for not achieving the managers objectives which aren't clearly shared.
The systems are also very poor and there is no real way of checking whether what you are being paid correlates back to what a customer is consuming. additionally setting up new clients can take months.
80%+ of a reps time is spent on internal process/meetings which drastically lmits client facing time.
