In Google Cloud, they have hired leadership from AWS, IBM, Salesforce etc and the culture has become the same cut-throat, big corporate, and political as the rest. Google Cloud has fell behind in the AI race and as a seller, most of our prospects are already well integrated with OpenAI or using AWS credit programmes which are very difficult to compete against. Unlike AWS we aren’t offered any kind of attainment for getting clients using Google Cloud with credits.
After experiencing constant rounds of layoffs, leadership are now implementing a more cost effective option which is giving many reps Performance Improvement Plans with unreachable 30 day requests. At the same time, an employee who reached 300% of their target got a ‘satisfactory’ rating. Getting promoted is close to impossible and takes significantly longer than needed.
Some managers are getting poor management reviews from their teams, but it appears leadership is fine with that saying it shows that managers are putting enough pressure on the reps.
Would not recommend any friend to work here.
