For 2023, 1 out of 32 SMB reps hit annual quota. For MM, 1 out of 23 hit. The next 5 most successful reps hovered around 40% quota, with the remaining 80% of reps hitting around 15-20% of quota. Coupa makes quota unattainable to save $/ pay reps less. They keep reps around by paying a competitive base salary, with no intention of them hitting quota. There will usually be 1 rep out a team of 5 who will hit their quarterly number, making their RVP (first line manager) look good on paper. Out of ALL FY deals closed, 80% have been inbound hot leads (Contact Us/ live demo request). So if you're in a shitty patch, good luck because you'll be stuck being a BDR, outbound prospecting your ass off for opportunities that are not likely close. Reps will get lucky with layup inbounds. Out of my team of six, 14 out of 16 closed deals were hot inbound leads. So basically if you don't get lucky with an inbound, you're screwed. Incredibly hard product to sell. Everything needs to fall into place perfectly for a deal to close (modern ERP, previous Coupa users, etc).
