The company hired him to trim their staff without classifying them as layoffs.
Good people have been pushed out so they can be replaced with cheaper/junior sales people.
Only 1-2 people from the whole org. will hit their number. Target's are to unrealistic.
Product is nice to have but not mission critical for businesses. Think twice if you coming from a well established software company where you actually selling value and not just a feature.
