What is the usual career progression for a sales representative at CDW?

The usual career progression is Sales Representative to Account Manager, then from there depending on how much you sell you can move up account executive but that is essentially the same as an account manager with a few extra perks.

After Sales Representative, typically comes Account Manager. From there, there are three progression paths - account management to continue to grow your book of business, sales management, CDW badged specialist. CDW badged specialist can be inside solution architect, field solution architect, or even a supplier specialist dedicated to CDW.

There's two approaches. Internally via technical (Solution Architect or Sales Overlay), management (Sales Manager), or direct sales (Account Manager/Executive) routes... or externally via hopping to a channel partner and working different sales cycles & solutions. Depends on your personality/style.

To be honest, sky is the limit depending on what you put in. I know multiple coworkers who started as an AR and ended up being inside sales managers, field reps, directors, ISA's or just keep making great $ in the Account Manager role. You get out what you put in.

Some account managers become managers, but it is hard to grow past that. Many people stick around, so those higher positions don't become available very often.
Another possible option is to become a field rep, an engineer, or a specialist in one of the products.
