Current Employee I love Box and started as an SDR, but since moving to SMB, I’ve seen a lot of changes. The most challenging has been the commission curve implemented last fiscal year. Previously, we had a consistent percentage on every deal, but now it starts as low as 6% until you hit 50% of your annual quota, at which point it increases to around 9%.
We've also experienced high turnover and increasingly difficult quotas, with limited inbound opportunities. A significant portion of revenue now comes from upselling small accounts and renewals. While the product continues to improve with new enhancements, the overall success factors have shifted. This year, I know of only about five reps who have hit quota.
Overall, Box is a great company with an amazing culture and team, but SMB has faced significant challenges in ensuring its reps are set up for success. Browse Other Reviews
