While I’ll be forever grateful that Darktrace gave me my first sales opportunity, you are at the end of the day a number to them. Far more fail in this role then succeed. The top earners make up less then 5% of the company while the majority are barely scraping by. If you work in a competitive region good luck making quota without a channel partner. Fantastic product in a very competitive market. Commission is based on ACV instead of TCV and is spread out over multiple years. On my way out I had to sacrifice 20k in commission because of that system. Do not let the base fool you. Most will not make it in this role unless you are on the accelerator team which allows you to prospect all of North America.

If you come from a normal functioning tech company I would avoid this company at all costs, even if you are looking for a paycheck. The systems here are absolutely terrible and do not set you up for success. The training is absolutely terrible as well and no one records their calls. Overall really enjoyed the role and day to day job. I was fortunate enough to make good money ($130,000 base+commission) and I worked with some amazing people! This job really taught me a lot and gave a lot of experience quick. Biggest cons though are lack of experienced management and company culture is the worst I’ve ever seen.
