OTE isn't really achievable due to onboarding challenges. Implementation is a major challenge in the SMB segment and commission is clawed back if a prospect terminates. Was a Sales Executive at athena for a while. Leadership is a mess, hired people unprepared and unexperienced into those roles. Product is all over the place, price increases without substantial change drives prospects away. Upward mobility is near impossible.

With a premium product comes a premium price, and most buyers do not set out looking for the product being sold. Because of this, most deals are lost due to cost.

I enjoy working at athenahealth. Working with doctors offices can be more fulfilling than other industries. The leadership is amazing and there is a lot of transparency here. I would reccomend anyone interested in an SDR career to look into athena

My overall experience at athenahealth was great. The people I work with; the tools/resources at my disposal; and product are all top notch. However, the company has not kept up with increase of pay in the industry and work continues to increase without compensation.

Athena was great when I first started. Great culture for remote employees. However, in 2023 they did not allow new logo sales at summer connect which is who remote employees feel apart of the culture. They’ve also made it more difficult this year to sell with several new policies.

Fantastic company and great pay and benefits. The sales organization is the tip of the spear and we have the buy in and support of the whole organization. There are some internal organizational areas that could use tweaking but overall, this is the place to work and we're positioned to be the market leader over the next 2 - 3 years.
