Why hasn't Verkada had an IPO yet? Are they going to get acquired?

Their chairman has stated that he wants to IPO once the company reaches $1B in annual revenue. Might happen in the next year or two. No shot they get acquired, that chairman also founded Meraki and had a not so great time selling it to Cisco. The feeling inside the organization is IPO or bust

IPO'ing during a potential recession doesn't make sense. The founders and high up executives would be leaving a substantial amount of money on the table if they IPO'd now.

Verkada releases new product lines every 6 months to a year. there are some big industries that the rumors have started flowing we will be breaking into soon. simply announcing products in those industries would likely double our evaluation. I expect to IPO once those new products reach maturity

Verkada has continually missed huge on their # the past 2 years, and what their biggest investors are expecting so it's not looking nearly half as great as it was in 2021 even... All the top reps are leaving, and talking with them many of them are not exercising their stocks.. I started in 2020 so I have true stock options (bonus was in RSU's only), however all they give now is RSU's. Verkada has already had 2 stock splits so they barely give employees any RSU's anyways, or at least 1/4 of what they used to. No one will buy Verkada bc Han's stance with Cisco, and all the backlash from hack, camera spying on women, and having very little minority there will make it tough to sell to anyone. I hope they turn it around so my stocks may be worth something, but it's not looking promising...
