What is the turnover rate at Verkada?

Turnover is extremely high. Average tenure is about 6 months or less for sales. AEs come in based off of false promises from recruiters and directors claiming "life changing money, and a large amount of inbound pipeline." After a couple of months in seat and 4-8 hours of cold calling a day, AEs realize this is not the case and their 400k+ quota every quarter is unattainable. Most decide to cut their losses and leave or get fired after a couple of quarters making this a repetitive cycle for the recruiting team. On the other hand you have the SDR team (Associate Account Executives). This turnover is even worse as these reps go through a grueling SDR boot camp consisting of day to day SDR duties, jam-packed technical assessments, and repetitive demo trainings and qualifications. Most are fired right before promotion to AE and some get the promotion.

Extremely high... It's 200% territory based so luck of the draw where you land from an AE perspective. Quotas have literally DOUBLED in the past 22 months (550K is mid market), while most office hitting around 30-40% the past 2 years. All the top reps have departed in the past 18 months, as Verkada has made a huge shift from paying $200K OTE's to hiring college kids for $90K OTE since they know it's strictly territory based. The SDR program is admittedly (overly) intense and turnover is extremely high within that as well. If you're in SF or Tampa you have a shot at a decent territory, but good luck in TX or UT offices...

You miss 2 quarters, you’re out. Very high turnover even with people who hit quota because of the stress.

Verkademy has even higher turnover and even those who graduate from the program will get fired for one reason or another.You are your number.

Higher than any company ive ever worked for. Also, the mid-market role is not mid market, it’s a true SMB role with a mid market title.

Verkada is a simple company: hit your number consistently, and you get to keep your job/promote on an extremely accelerated timeline. But its not an easy task. Those who churn by their own volition typically do so to go to a company that they had no shot at before Verkada.

Those who complain here and on Glassdoor about turnover, quotas, etc just don't get "it". This is a hypergrowth company, not a cush gig you can milk. Either strap in, hang on, and work as hard as you can, or go somewhere else. No hard feelings! We're building something and need people bought in.

The one thing I will say about Verkada is that we don't always do a great job preparing people for the rigor of this role in the interview process. We really should try and scare more people away from the get go.
