Back to ReviewsFormer Employee My overall experience at Upland was not great.
The comp structure can be very lucrative if you're successful, but the base is so low that you're always stuck selling from a place of desperation.
Upland is an M&A company, so it has an extremely siloed structure.
Picture this: One sales floor. 3 business units. Everyone is selling different products.
Some have an $8,000 ACV. Some have a $90,000 ACV.
Some are selling to SMBs with sub $100m revenue, some are selling to enterprise organizations with over $1 billion revenue.
Everyone is measured the same though.
The outbound rep with the $90,000 ACV is on the same quota as the outbound rep with an $8,000 ACV.
It gets worse. There are inbound reps on the same sales floor as outbound reps making the same amount (usually a lot more) money than the outbound reps.
The outbound reps are scraping by with very little assistance from marketing because everything half-decent from marketing goes to the inbounds.
If you get lucky with one of the very few inbound positions here, you will have a great time and make a lot of money.
If you get stuck with an outbound role here... good luck. Browse Other Reviews
