can anyone speak to the seemingly high rate of turnover within the AM team?

I’d like to challenge the comment here praising the CRO. The team is very aware of the current job market. Sometimes the devil you know is better than the devil you don’t. The team is overworked and miserable. An AM joined only to quit 3 weeks later because of this person.

The way in which the CRO leads is definitely the issue. In order to succeed, you just need to do what he does and mirror how he does it. He has an ego and tears down those he doesn’t like/ can’t mold. He is a good salesperson but lacks the understanding of what leads to long term success.

Turnover is high because the CRO is leading the sales team as of April 2023. He is tone deaf, won’t listen to the team, and only hears what he wants to hear. He is difficult to work with and a very toxic human.

Actually completely disagree with the comments below. I work indirectly with the CRO and he is an incredibly strong leader, and his team actually loves him (hence why he has been there for so long). If he left, I actually think the majority of the sales and AM team would follow him - that's how good he is. The AM team has had less than ideal performance due to the recent shift in business model, but are already seeing more success. Leadership change can happen at a high-growth startup, and that can sometimes cause growth pains. I wouldn't let a few comments from a few former disgruntled employees dissuade you from working with a high-caliber team and awesome culture.
