SDR: Tasked with quick action on inbound leads (demo requests, sales inquiries, e-guide downloads, webinar attendees, etc.)
SDRs run qualification calls for roughly 15 minutes before routing qualified leads to several AE segments.
BDR: Tasked with cold outreach to accounts in an annual Book of Business (partnering with AEs). Because role is cold calling & cold emailing, you typically set discovery calls for your AE with minimal qualification on your initial touches.
I've held both roles and certainly preferred the work of an SDR.
