My overall experience was positive. It was great for starting off in sales where you didn’t want to be on the phone all day. A lot of the information that we received in the office before hitting our canvas area could have been delivered via email and saved us time to be more productive and get a strong start.

SMB channel specifically, comp is fair, policies really favor the employee in terms of performance management/comp/etc. More work on sales than normal but they're working to address it, lots of automation coming online finally. Comp is a little anemic, but budget excellent. A good place to hang your hat, and sometimes a really good long-term fit for some.

The company is on a race to the bottom, selling at lower and lower price points without a clear path to higher value. The sales process is well defined, and there is good support within that process. There is not a lot of room for unique interpretations of that process.

People are good, but our biggest competitor is Spectrum itself. This is outside sales. First to ink means you can work a deal, but if a call center rep calls and gets them to sign, then you lose the deal. Spectrum SMB salaries are falling behind. Comp plan changes initiated in May 1923 severely limit hi earners and pay potential. one quota for all reps, regardless of territory which are not the same but expectations are the same if you’re in a small town rural or big city suburb.

I was lucky to have a good manager who genuinely cared for his team's success. Unfortunately, I've heard a lot of unfortunate stories about being with a terrible manager. I think the experience is heavily dictated by a team you end up with.

The "leads" you receive are worthless. You will be going door-to-door all day every day, but if you get out there and do your job, you will make good money. Also, the benefits are good.
