Talent doesn't matter, anyone could do this position but its like gambling, you take a chance on getting no opportunity or a great opportunity. Leadership is scared and continuously changing because nobody hits their number and the expectations are too high. Specialist roles are treated like dog $hit. If you're not core, you aren't valued.
