Oracle is a great place to work, make money in sales and have relative job security in the face of mass layoffs and RIFs that have impacted tech over the past few year. Oracle is a sales company first and foremost, with a lot of the license-related deals and cloud growth centered on maintaining compliance and maximizing footprint with strategic consumption plans. The technology is definitely cutting-edge, but company is run by sales leaders and lawyers. You will meet a lot of great folks there and if you have a good patch (ie good install base or net new ISV logos) you have a good chance of make a lot of cash.

Loved working at oracle. Started right out of college as a BDC and was promoted into an account manager position. Loved the people I worked with and my managers, but the base pay was absolute garbage and I got no base pay raise even with a promotion. There’s a cap on salary increases for internal promotions, but none for external hires. Really bad business model that...Read More
