When I joined, quotas for SDRs had recently doubled, an unrealistic target given market conditions. Despite my track record of never missing quota at previous companies, I struggled due to a lack of support and resources to meet these impossible expectations.
In a vulnerable moment, I had an emotional conversation with my manager, expressing my struggles and feeling set up for failure. Rather than offering support, my manager dismissively offered me “two weeks,” implying termination instead of providing solutions. This response was both unprofessional and deeply hurtful.
Additionally, after raising legitimate concerns to HR about my AE’s behavior, I experienced retaliation. My manager indicated I would not be considered for promotion, effectively punishing me for reporting misconduct.
The culture of blame-shifting by AEs, combined with my manager’s micromanagement and lack of empathy, further added to the toxic environment. Despite these obstacles, I contributed significantly, leveraging my skills and market expertise to generate valuable opportunities.
Ultimately, the lack of accountability, unrealistic expectations, and retaliatory behavior created an untenable situation, forcing me to resign. Browse Other Reviews
