Microsoft is so big - hard to tell what sales teams / product lines are actually represented by the AEs rating on here? Roll call - what are you actually selling? Advertising? Azure? What are the biggest Sales division in general?

AE role at MS is where you want to be. Total responsibility for all revenue across all workloads w/ a team of sellers (STU) supporting your accounts. Lately, SMC has been the growth engine for the company but you get the right accounts in ENTERPRISE and you’ll crush it

Account Execs have overall sales responsibility per account, inclusive of all workloads. You can't hit quota without hitting your Modern Work quota (Teams, M365). Azure (PaaS) gets the most attention and air time.

Generally, the Enterprise Operating Unit (EOU) and Small & Midsize Corporate (SMC) are the largest general sales organizations. Inside of both, there are Account Team Unit (ATU) roles that are more generalist roles - with responsibilities for most solution areas - and Specialist Team Units (STU) that are mostly responsible for a specific solution area. Azure has 3 main STU roles - Applications & Infrastructure, Data & AI, and Application Innovation.  That is more headcount versus something like Modern Work or Business Applications when it comes to STU sellers.

Myself - Surface - biggest divisions are Modern Work, which I'm a subset of and encompasses all of M365, W365, Viva, etc. but Azure is also massive - if you go and look at our investor relations documentation how we break out our BUs on there is how we structure our sales teams internally and it'll give you a good idea on the size of each business unit
