What is the Small Business AE role like? What should someone new to HubSpot's sales organization expect from this role?

Not sure if you’ve read other Q and As here but it’s not great. Very high pressure, high stress environment. Will need to work a lot and will be expected to work a lot. Full quota is absurdly high. Ramp is attainable but they’re hiring way too many reps and it’s only getting harder.

It’s extremely challenging to hit your number. Even more so because your manager is always breathing down your neck and getting in your way (in my experience, maybe others are different). Prepare to send every deal related email to your boss for proof reading then receiving a half assed version back

Far too many reps in the org - makes prospecting and sourcing leads time-consuming. Fully ramped quota is extremely difficult to hit. Frankly, most of the reps who consistently hit full quota in H1 were only able to do so because they stole a massive amount of inbound leads from the org

Be ready to be an SDR and AE at the same time. Stalking accounts that fall out of others at 5pm every night, thrown to the wolves after 1 month of training… micromanaging to the max about outbound activity. Ready to quit after only a month in the role.
