Back to ReviewsCurrent Employee It’s a shame that most of the Google Cloud leaders simply don’t understand how to win net new Cloud business. The majority have ex-IBM, Oracle, SAP or Microsoft backgrounds and this means their expertise is primarily negotiating renewal deals. As such their default position is to throw credits, discounts etc at a deal in their desperation to close it, significantly destroying profitability of the deals that do close. In parallel to this, they look at revenue numbers and panic as to why growth is slowing down without realising their actions to secure the booking are often the fundamental reason revenue growth is being cannibalised.
