Any insight on the SDR role at Gong? Worth it? Good training, OTE, actual attainable quota? Metrics?

You’ll either crush it and get promoted quickly and make good money or you will get crushed and fired quickly. Be brutally honest with yourself. Are you a sicko who LOVES cold calling. Like really love it? If so, go for it. Be warned the commercial AE role is very very hard.

Take this for what it's worth, I was there pre and post-pandemic, and I will say I think the org got a bit more empathetic to how hard that role is. The expectations are hire, but I do believe the BDR/SDRs at Gong were some of the best I worked with, the training was constant, the managers were solid, and you are equipped extremely well with tons of great software like Outreach, account enrichment, I believe we had 6sense when I was there, and then of course the marketing and demand-gen is just a machine. You will 100% be making cold calls, but it's one of the most organized BDR programs I've seen outside of LinkedIn.

It's worth it if you're willing to work hard and learn quickly. The hardest part of Gong is booking opps because people answer the phone at a low rate and rarely answer emails.

That means you have to stand out with elite, relevant, and personalized messaging (learnable). You also have to crush the phones.

If learning and development are what drive you, not a better sales role out there for SDR. Money will be good also.

Amazing training - better than any company I've been a part of. Quota? completely biased based on book. Metrics - not too crazy to hit
