Which division within Gartner is best for sales people to join for 2021 or had most success recently?

Look at Supply Chain, High Tech, and Invest. Do not join the End User team as the culture has much to be desired (unless you enjoy high turnover of your team and jamming sales down customers' throats)

While I was there it seemed the HR and IT/Tech sales teams were able to consistently hit or overachieve on their targets so personally if I did sales again at Gartner I'd want to be on those teams.

Well thinking about the current world.. Event sales is a gamble as no one can guarantee large events will happen in 2021. Research sales is a consistent business unit and Gartner is always open to having you move within. I say go for research then move if you hate it.

Their HR sales seem to do well - with a lot of reps winning incentive trips, earning massive commissions, and seeing consistent promotions.

Gartner Digital Markets is the business unit with fastest growth. I would try to get into Enterprise or Mid Market for US as other territories are still developing and can be challenging at times. Also leadership and culture in the GDM is top notch! No micro managing and leaders are very open to hear you out.

My recommendation would be GBS (Business Sales) over GTS (Technology Sales). GBS capabilities came from the acquisition of Corporate Executive Board (CEB) and has higher growth potential while GTS is end-user sales.

I’ve been on the HR sales team in GBS for 3 years now and can confirm it’s a fast growing team. Large Enterprise HR is the place to be. Mid-Market is pricing out potential customers and has a VERY green and inexperienced management team.

The best divisions to go into for Gartner are either end user sales (for either SMB, Mid Market or Enterprise) and High Tech (for either SMB, Mid Market or Enterprise). If you want less of a sales job and more of a service job, the client partner division within Gartner is remarkable.
