How would you describe the interview process for the role you applied for, and what should others expect, pros and cons, etc?

Interviewed in august for both Dell and Dell EMC training programs. Both were for inside sales roles. I got into Dell, not Dell EMC. A manager told me I could move laterally in about 18 months which is when they typically start reviewing for promotions. I want to sell software, but they decided I’d be a better fit for their hardware sales program. The interview for Dell (not EMC) was rather straightforward. The first interview was a conversation with a current inside sales rep employee. She and I hit it off and she said she’s 1 of 3 in her class in enterprise sales. I told her I wanted to be selling to enterprises and I easily passed that round. Second interview was with two managers who’ve been with the company for decades. Although a little cold and almost interrogative, I passed the round. (If you haven’t guessed by now, who you get as interviewers largely determine the outcome of a job offer. Research your interviewers!) Example questions from This interview: If you could be an animal which would you be and why?How do you stay organized?The final round was with two more managers, one of which was from my last interview. It got rescheduled because he was late and the other manager simply did not show up. The next day I had two completely new managers as interviewers and in a way it was a relief because they were now two women I could likely strike a chord with. This interview was smooth sailing, as I had my answers prepared and had a lot of confidence this time. Example questions from this interview:What was a time you upheld your organizations ethics? Amidst chaos, how do you stay organized?Aside from that, a straightforward interview process and it all happened in a week or two. Got my offer the next business day. I’d say the trade off is you get paid less, but the sales excellence academy is known to be a prestigious training program that will build you up to be equipped for anything that comes your way. It is something to be excited about 🙂
