Back to ReviewsFormer Employee Overall great experience at Dell EMC as an Associate Inside Sales Rep within the NextGen Sales Academy. This role is salary only (no commission). The base pay is great given the nature of the role and everything it offers. The leadership and development is excellent and the nuclear workplace culture is very strong. There is an abundance of training and support. The biggest negative is that we were told in our initial hiring interviews that it takes an average of 6-9 months to promote to the next role. While that timeline was accurate in the past (and in certain rare scenarios when I was there), during my time in the role the average promotion timeframe was nearly double that: much closer to 12-15 months. That's still a great timeline compared to the industry average, but it was a bit frustrating for everyone to be given a certain expectation which wasn't met in practice (due to higher-up decisions in the company, market conditions, etc.). Again, the immediate leadership, training & development was great and the team dynamic was fantastic. I definitely would recommend the program. You do not need a tech background. They train you on it all.
