Your territory and AE alignment have a large impact on your success. The product is technical and can be difficult to be able to learn at first. Tons of pressure on the top-down for profitability. Some managers do not have the abilities or knowledge how to help SDR's grow their selling ability with this type of product. Can be sink or swim. Additionally, managers only know how to help one who is successful but do not know how to coach the ones that aren't top performers. The path to promotion is unclear and have added overlays positions that are just glorified SDRs- a lot of people have left due to this and this has changed the SDR culture. Day-to-day is pretty relaxed if you're hitting your metrics, especially calls. Some other benefits WFH, desk stipend, phone/ internet stipend, Annual kickoff, RSUs. Confluent at its core is a good company just your standard tech job pains.

technical product so long ramp up time for sales, relatively new market segment so long sales cycles because customers are not yet aware of the potential, great potential for sales if given the time. Unfortunately Confluent is not always focusing on the long term

Great market opportunity that the company is well equipped to capture. Competitive compensation and opportunity to hit quota. Talent retention can be a challenge and the company would benefit from increasing their investment in people development.
